Be Minked once again 🙂 We are excited to be featured!!!! Check out this link for a full scoop of the feature:)
In a month Jenny and Frank will give their lives to one another. I am beyond excited for them and was honored to photograph their engagement session! Jenny and Frank are the kind of couple everyone loves. Fun, laid back, adventurous and sweet! I truly believe soul-mates have found one another! Digital cupid brought Jenny and Frank together through Eharmony. “Since we met on line, our first date was really the first time we met in person. That always comes with some awkwardness but this time it went amazingly well. We met for drinks at Jakes in Del Mar and spent hours talking with realizing how much time went by. Our second date quickly followed, we had dinner and a moon light picnic in La Jolla. It was on feb 29th (leap year). We really count that as when we started dating. I think Frank planned it all along to make anniversaries only once every 4years :-).” After a year of dating Frank whisk away Jenny for a weekend of anniversary celebration. Frank took Jenny to Coronado for a romantic gondola ride. “It seemed like it was out of a movie, the sun setting, the gondolier singing and the man of my dreams proposing with my grandmothers ring.” CAN I JUST SAY I AM swooned!
The Engagement Session:
Jenny and Frank describe themselves as a laid back, fun loving, silly, creative and just a little bit of FUNKY couple! Knowing this … we knew we would have the green light to construct an out of the box engagement session! Let the fun begin! Jenny and Frank wanted to depict an older version of themselves! Having tons of vintage props provided by Lucky Street Production, a loving, knitting and ironing housewife and a taken care of happy hubby was brought to the table, as an idea. The session overall had a 50’s hubby and housewife vibe. A vintage kissing booth was also used as a photo prop.
Jenny and Frank I wish you a long healthy life of love, respect, kindness, successes and romance together!!! Congratulation!!! You guys have found your match!

I am so happy to announce, my photographs are featured the whole month of March at Calumet in San Diego! Happy 27th birthday to me! My birthday is on March 31st! What a perfect gift! The first time I walked into Calumet was two years ago. I remember viewing the gallery and wishing one day I would have art displayed on walls somewhere 🙂 At that point in time I didn’t even know how to manually set my camera. I guess all that hard work paid off! When I was younger, I thought I would be artistic through my music. I saw myself as a hippie free spirit rocking out on stage. It wasn’t until I became a wife and mother, that I developed the discipline to become a better artist. Even now, I am first a wife & mother. Mother & wife by day … photographer/artist by night. It can sometimes be so difficult. I sometimes wish I would of met photography at an earlier age in my life. That way I could focus 100% of my time to developing my skill. Then I’m humbled. Then I realize if It weren’t for my husband and my beautiful baby girl I wouldn’t be where I am today. London is the ONLY reason I ever picked up a camera, hence the name “London Light Photography.” I dedicate this viewing to my husband Dana, and my daughter London. Dana and London I love you dearly. You are halves to my heart.
High school sweethearts Cherise and Collin tied the knot after 10 years of dating. They promised forever before their loved ones and God at the Admiral Kidd Club in San Diego, CA. I was taken back by the beautiful breathtaking views of the San Diego Bay and skyline. Mr. &Mrs. Baker, I wish the both of you together a long life of love, happiness, health, success and babies :)!
How Mr.Baker popped the question-
“Collin proposed on a surprise getaway that he planned. He woke me up at 4am and told me to pack my bags because he had a surprise for me. It turned out to be a trip to Catalina Island. There he took me zip lining and during the last run of the zip line he talked me into having him go down first with the camera so he could take pictures of me coming down since I had been going down first on the other lines and took pictures of him. Little did I know that he pre-planned all of this so as I came down the zip line I came into the landing with Collin waiting for me on one knee with a white box in his hand. He had one of the workers set up with our camera taking pictures and someone else was videoing the whole thing. It was honestly one of the best moment of my life. And I have video and pictures to cherish it.”
The First Date-
Our first date was at our Winter Formal Dance. He met me at my house with a bouquet of 2 dozen beautiful roses. We met all of our friends at the high school for the dance and after we went back to a friends house who lived across the street from the school. I remember eating pizza and watching football movies with the guys.
Today’s Date Night-
Date night for us usually starts earlier in the day. We like to go down to Coronado and spend a little time at the beach and then walk the streets. We end our date night with a bite to eat before heading back home.
I woke up on a beautiful California morning on January 19, 2014. The weather was spectacular. It would match my expectations of the engagement session I would be photographing. With the expectations of this spectacular day, I had to follow the general rulebook to spectacularism. A Starbucks grande Blond coffee, with steamed breve and a splash of Splenda. Now I’m ready roll. I would be meeting Crystal and Jason, and my goodness I was excited! The moment I saw Crystal, I was captivated!!! She wore a beautiful short trimmed white dress, silver jeweled heels, and a sparkly jeweled hairpiece. Then I saw Jason! This was to good to be true! Jason was looking sharp gray tux and black bow tie! These two know how to dress. We arrived on set. Again I was knocked off my feet by spectacularism. Nancy Kruse, owner of Touched by Time Vintage Rentals brought her A game. Three chandeliers hanging from a silver pined arched tree branch, a beautiful farm table dressed with silver, white and cream, and two white winged back chairs. It was so romantic! Touched by Time Vintage Rentals and myself would be spending a full day with Crystal and Jason. I would photograph three separate scenes.
Crystal and Jason are knee deep in wedding planning. Crystal gladly supplies Jason with all the reading material he will need to help guide him to their wedding day. The two decided to take a break and head to the coast for a little romance and sunset. As they are walking the beach they find a treasure chest. They open the chest and find random objects, candles sticks, flowers, a white dress, a bow tie, a book, and much more. The sun sets, and the two drift of into slumber. They meet in their dreams. There they find a beautiful table set for two. The table is set with pieces they found in the treasure chest. Crystal is wearing the white dress discovered in the trunk. Jason is wearing the black bow. Dream a little dream with me.
Congrats Crystal and Jason. I was beyond honored to photograph your engagement session. The love between you two is so apparent. I wish you two a long life together of love and success.
Q. How did you and your fiancé meet??
We saw each other for the first time inside the elevator at work. We never talked and hardly ran into each other since we were working in different departments. We were attracted to each other (which we both admitted later) but that was about it since we were both in long term serious relationships at the time. Jason) got an opportunity to work in San Francisco, so he moved up north. Our mutual friend/co-worker also quit Mattel and moved up north. One day she asked me to come visit her up north since I was single and kind of bored. So I decided to go visit her and she called out some friends to hang out with us, one of which was Jason. We recognized each other and started talking. We had both gotten out of our long-term relationship and our timing worked out this time. The distance was a challenge but we realized it was worth the extra effort. 🙂
Q. How did your fiancé propose to you??
He got me a trip to Hawaii for my birthday. Our anniversary was also near that time frame and he scheduled a mini photo-shoot for us in Hawaii since it would be a beautiful place to take photos for our anniversary and capture our vacation. After taking some photos, the photographer asked us if there were any special poses we wanted to do for our photos. Jason then took out a photo book he had made for our one-year anniversary and suggested that we take some photos with it. We flipped through the pages as the photographer snapped away. Then I arrived at the last page and it had a picture of a ring on it. Then he got down on his knees in the middle of the beach and asked me to marry him. So our proposal was nicely photographed.
Q. How would you describe yourselves as a couple?
We like to think of ourselves as a team. We feel like we bring out the best in each other.

Deep passionate young love, chapters of separation, love letters and together again at last…. Sound familiar? As Devin and Emily shared their love story with me, my mind played a parallel story written by Nicholas Sparks. The Notebook is responsible for swooning countless hearts across the world. Especially, after it was brought to the silver screen and Ryan Gosling went through hell and high water to prove his love… shirtless. That same element of bottomless passion Mr. Sparks wrote about does existent. I’m a witness to it. Emily and Devin have it. It was so important for me to show their love story through photographs. We collectively decided to bring to life the theme of love letters. Emily and Devin’s love letter writing ways began in high school. For our first scene we decided to photograph at Temecula’s airport. I wanted to show separation. It was important to show Devin and Emily parting ways. A few photographs show even though there is physical distance, there isn’t distance at all within their hearts. For our next location, we photographed at the beautiful Humphrey’s Estate nestled in foothills of Temecula, CA. Touched by Time Vintage Rentals and I both loved the idea of creating a private space for Emily to write love letters to Devin. We decided that space would be in a charming greenhouse. Nancy and Kelly, owners of Touched by Time Vintage rentals always stop my heart with their stylized sets. I adored the set they put together for Emily and Devin. Chandelier, birdcages, aged writing desk, typewriter, roses, a chocolate box, and of course love letters garnished the greenhouse. There I would photograph Two halves becoming one. Devin would surprise Emily. All the stars would align and love letters would go flying! Which was so much fun to photograph. I can’t wait to photograph Emily and Devin’s wedding in July 2014. I look forward to hearing them read one of the most important love letters they will ever write to one another, their vows.
Special Thanks to Touched by Time Vintage Rental, Humphrey’s Estate and Pauline Castillo, H&M artist.
